IND vs SL Test Series: Sri Lanka’s Dasun Shanaka may return to the Test match, Sri Lanka’s ODI and T20 captain Dasun was not found in the Test team.

The Possibility of Joining The Team:-

But after performing well in the T20 series against India (IND vs SL T20 Series), he is likely to be included in the team for the two-match Test series.

The picture of him reaching Chandigarh is going viral on social media, due to which speculations are being made that he can be part of the team in the first Test to be held in Mohali from March 4.

IND vs SL Test Series: A source from the Sri Lankan team told InsideSport, he is in Mohali with the team. But officially he has not been added to the team. At present, he has suffered minor injuries.

Along with the selectors, it should also get support from the Sports Ministry. Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has not played Test cricket continuously.

Three-Match T20 Series Against India:-

The last time he played a Test match against England in Galle in January 2021, he failed. However, he scored an unbeaten 47 off 19 balls and 74 off 38 balls in the three-match T20I series against India.

IND vs SL Test Series: Dasun Shanaka impressed the legendary Sunil Gavaskar with his game. Sunil Gavaskar even said that I do not understand why he was not selected by the IPL team.

“I am really surprised that he was not picked by any of the IPL franchises because maybe his performances before that were not very good.

But looking at his batting performance yesterday and today and his bowling performance, I can say with certainty that if any team needs a replacement, they will be in the eyes of almost every franchise.

“Because the way he has scored runs is commendable. On Saturday he batted brilliantly against Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar and on Sunday against Mohammad Siraj and Avesh Khan. The way he has scored runs means he is a special player.”

Although Dasun has done well in T20s and ODIs, he still needs to prove his mettle in Tests. He has scored only 140 runs in 6 Tests at an average of 14.00 while taking 13 wickets.
