IND vs SL W: Player of the match captain Athapaththu scored an unbeaten 80 off 48 balls to prevent Sri Lanka from a clean sweep after beating India by seven wickets in the third and final T20I. India had already won the series by winning the first two matches. In this way, India captured the series 2-1.

Athapaththu became the first woman Sri Lankan cricketer to complete 2000 runs :-

The 32-year-old Athapaththu hit 14 fours and a six in the innings and became the first Sri Lankan cricketer to score 2,000 runs in T20Is. Tillakaratne Dilshan has 1889 runs among the male cricketers of Sri Lanka. Athapaththu scored a 29-ball fifty, which was the fastest fifty in the history of Sri Lanka Women’s T20 cricket.

IND vs SL W: Harmanpreet Kaur played the captaincy innings :-

India scored 138 for five with the help of captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 39. In reply, Sri Lanka won by scoring 141 for three with three overs remaining.

Apart from Athapaththu, Neelakshi (30) made major contributions. Athapaththu was also given life for 42 when Jemima dropped his catch at midwicket. Indian team’s fielding was poor. Leave many runout chances.

IND vs SL W: India’s slow batting :-

India won the toss and elected to bat first. Shafali Verma was dismissed early after scoring 5 runs but openers Smriti Mandhana and S Meghna added 41 runs for the second wicket but the score was 51 for three as Mandhana and Meghna were dismissed in two consecutive overs.

India’s weak run rate in the middle overs is the main reason for losing the match:

India’s run rate was weak in the middle overs. At one point, 38 balls were not hit for a four. Jemima (30) opened her hands after the thirteenth over. After the dismissal of Jemima, Harman added 49 runs in the last five overs with Pooja (13). Player of the Series Harmanpreet scored 92 runs in the series and took one wicket.
