But after this Rohit Sharma and Company practiced on the nets after resting on Sunday evening. But during this, Sanju Samson continued his practice session without taking a rest.

Significantly, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the five-match T20 series. In the first match of this series, along with Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav came for the opening.

This was his shocking decision. But it was not without discussion. With KL Rahul getting injured and Ishan Kishan struggling against the fast bowlers, the team management is looking to devise alternatives.

Batsmen are struggling to hit the ball with the word:-

The powerplay has been a problem for India as the batsmen have been struggling to hit the ball with the word. This is the reason why Rishabh Pant was also tried in England.

But now with only a few matches left to get the combination right, Team India is trying different options. However, Sanju Samson is another option that India is yet to test.

Samson did well in the IPL as an opener. With a strike rate of 135.02 in 23 matches, he has more opening experience than Suryakumar Yadav.

But Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma consider him a top-order batsman rather than an opener. With the five-match series ending in just seven days, Sanju Samson will find a place in the series.

Will Sanju Samson get a chance in the second T20?

• The chances of Samson getting a chance in the second T20 are slim.
• He is up against Deepak Hooda and Shreyas Iyer for that spot.
• Shreyas Iyer will get one more chance in Virat Kohli’s absence before making a place for Deepak Hooda as the backup No.
• Team India will be reluctant to go with three wicket-keepers in the playing XI as it will limit India’s bowling ability.
• The only way for Samson to be fit in the team is the absence of Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Shreyas Iyer.
• However, it is in the ODIs where he is going to get his chances as India’s current focus remains on T20s.
• Samson will get a chance on the Zimbabwe tour in the three-match ODI series starting on August 18.
