Captain Shikhar Dhawan was also seen giving a lot of support to Gill at the crease. Also, Gill along with Dhawan made a great partnership for the first wicket.

On the other hand, Gill wiped out the sweat of the West Indies bowlers with his return. He didnโ€™t let the Caribbean bowlers get aggressive in any way and put pressure on them.

Gill played his innings in the powerplay with a series of boundaries at a strike rate of around 150. In the end, he managed to score his half-century in just 36 balls with the help of six fours and two sixes.

Along with Gill, Dhawan also completed his fifty. The 22-year-old scored 64 runs in 53 balls at an average of 120.75 but was then run out by Windies captain Nicholas Pooran.
