Suryakumar Yadav was a flop in the first two T20 matches :-

In the first match, Surya scored 24 runs off 16 balls, while in the second match he dismissed after scoring 11 runs off 6 balls. Although Surya is a top order batsman and plays at number three or fourth, but in the absence of KL Rahul, he is opening the innings. Srikkanth believes that in this way Suryakumar Yadav’s confidence can go down.

Srikanth, “Suriyakumar Yadav excellent to bat at No 4” :-

Before the start of the second match on fan code, Srikkanth said, ‘Suryakumar Yadav is the best player to bat at No.4 in T20 World Cup 2022. So why do you want him to open the innings?

If you want a batsman to open the innings, drop Shreyas Iyer and give Ishan Kishan a place in the team. Don’t waste a player like Suryakumar. I am telling you, what will happen when Suryakumar Yadav loses his confidence after a couple of bad innings?’

Mohammad Kaif is also unhappy with Suryakumar to open the innings :-

Before Srikkanth, Mohammad Kaif also surprised about Suryakumar opening the innings. While India opened the innings in England with Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan is sitting in the dugout.

At the same time, when the team’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar was questioned about this, he also gave a round-about answer. Bhuvi had said that he does not really know why this was done, but there must be some thought process behind it by head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharm
