IND vs WI T20 Squad: Virat Kohli’s request for rest has not been accepted yet, another T20I series against West Indies (IND vs WI) and for the second time Virat Kohli has sought rest.

BCCI and selectors are not ready to Play ball:-

But this time the BCCI and the selectors are not ready to play the ball. Instead, he has left it to the decision of the team management.

The five-match T20 series against West Indies will be an important opportunity to test Rahul Dravid’s combination. Keeping this in mind the final decision will be taken during the selection meeting itself. The team will be announced on Monday.

Virat Kohli’s poor form has raised questions about his place in the Indian team. To make matters worse, Kohli has not helped any quarter in the BCCI to ask for another break.

Kohli will be rested:-

Kohli has already parted ways with the BCCI. While reports claimed that Kohli would be rested as he had said, no decision has been taken yet.

A member of the selection committee told InsideSport, “If a player wants to rest, you can’t deny him. Yes, it is not ideal for a player struggling with form.

But we can’t force a player to play if he doesn’t want to. But no decision has been taken on Virat yet. We will discuss with both the captain and the coach before announcing the squad.”

Demanded to drop him from the T20 team due to his form:-

IND vs WI T20 Squad: Virat Kohli’s request for rest was strongly criticized by fans and former players. Many people including former India captain Kapil Dev have demanded his ouster from the T20 team due to his form.

Instead of silencing his critics, Kohli was dismissed for just 1 run in the second T20I against England after returning to T20Is after a five-month absence.

The team management has asked all senior players to be available. This will help head coach Rahul Dravid decide on the combination in the five-match series.

Virat Kohli pleads for rest from the T20 team:-

• But given that India does not have many matches to prepare for the T20 World Cup, the selectors and the BCCI are yet to accede to their request.
• Instead, they will talk to the captain and coach about a decision.
• KL Rahul will be missing due to injury. But everyone else including Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, and captain Rohit Sharma.

• Senior multi-format players will be available.
• The team will be announced by Monday.
