IND vs WI: India registered a thrilling three-run win against the West Indies in the first match of the three-match ODI series at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on Friday.

IND vs WI: Shikhar Dhawan set a new record by stepping on the field :-
Shikhar Dhawan, who is captaining the Indian team in this series, set a new record by stepping on the field. Dhawan became the 7th captain of India in 2022. Dhawan captained the Indian team in the three-match ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka last year.
He has been tasked to lead the team India once again. The year 2022 for the Indian cricket team has been quite different. This year before Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Jasprit Bumrah have captained the team in all three formats.

With Dhawan becoming the captain, India has equaled Sri Lanka’s record for most captaincy in a calendar year. Before India, the Sri Lankan team had seven captains in 2017, with Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Upal Tharanga, Rangana Herath, Lasith Malinga, Chamara Kapugedera and Thisara Perera leading the team in all three formats.

IND vs WI: This happened for the first time in Indian cricket history :-
This is the first time in Indian cricket history that 7 different captains have led the national team in a year. Earlier, for Team India 5 different players (Vinoo Mankad, Hemu Adhikari, Datta Gaikwad, Pankaj Roy and Gulabrai Ramchan) had led the team in 1959.
