Virat 3rd unbeaten half-century in four T20 World Cup matches:-
Record-breaker Virat Kohli on Wednesday said he enjoys playing after taking India to the brink of the semi-finals after his third unbeaten half-century in four T20 World Cup matches at the Adelaide Oval on Wednesday.
Virat’s unbeaten 64 off 44 balls made him the highest run-scorer in Twenty20 World Cup history as India beat Bangladesh by five runs in a rain-hit match to top Group 2.
India is one point ahead of South Africa which plays Pakistan in Sydney on Thursday. To keep alive their slim hopes of reaching the last four, Pakistan will need to win both of their last matches.
India could book their place in the semi-finals with a win against Zimbabwe on Sunday as Bangladesh chased down their rain-corrected target of 151 runs in 16 overs.
Zimbabwe’s interest in the semi-finals has come to an end after a five-wicket loss to the Netherlands, who won Super 12 for the first time.
Zimbabwe Coach Dave Houghton Said:-
Zimbabwe coach Houghton said his team’s exploits “brought the game back to life” for cricket fans in the African country after a few years at home.
Houghton said the messages he received about his side’s performance – they also beat Ireland and Scotland to qualify for the Super 12 – had brought smiles to Zimbabweans at home and around the world.
“They’ve enjoyed the fact that we’ve been able to come out and stand toe-to-toe with some of the best,” Houghton said.
