India Captain Harmanpreet Kaur Backs Dean’s Run Out On Teammate’s Non-Striker End at Lord’s, calling it “part of the game”.

Charlie Dean was run out after reaching a brilliant half-century:-

With 17 runs for the win, a 10th-wicket partnership for 35, and Charlie Dean nearing a brilliant half-century, Dean was run out in his delivery stride at the non-striker’s end with Deepti at Lord’s.

The dismissal, which is in the ‘Unfair play’ section of the laws, is set to go into the ‘run out section in the updated ICC Playing Conditions, effective 1 October.

When asked about getting out at the post-match presentation ceremony, Harmanpreet shrugging off the unwanted noise around it, saying that Deepti “has not done anything outside the rules”.

Asking about all the 10 wickets that weren’t easy to take:-

“To be honest, I thought you would ask about all those 10 wickets. That wasn’t easy to take (when asking about getting out).

“It’s part of the game, I don’t think we have done anything new. It shows your awareness of what the batsmen are doing.

I will support my player, he has not done anything outside the rules. At the end of the day, a win is a win and we will take it.”

The wicket gave India a 16-run victory, with Dean nearly snatching the game out of his hands with an innings of 47, helping England recover from an uncertain 65/7 in the run chase.

Harmanpreet calls the senior pacer the “Go-To Person”:-

Praising Jhulan Goswami for playing her last international game, Harmanpreet called the senior pacer her “go-to person”.

The India captain said, “She was a leader when I making my debut. Before the game, I told her that people supported me when I was going through the best of times, but when I was in tough times, He supported me.”

“I wanted to thank her and let her know that she is always with us. She is a well-knowing person, I always called her on short notice. And she was always the one to guide me.”
