The Players Urged to Rest:-
Ravi Shastri has urged former teammate Roger Binny to look into the IPL vs country debate and rest India’s star players ahead of major tournaments.

Shastri, who was the head coach during India’s last World Cup campaign, said players should have the option of taking rest during the IPL.
Speaking to veteran journalist Ayaz Memon at the Meet-the-Media program, Shastri said, “With the amount of cricket that exists today, it is extremely important how much you a player plays.
Keep its balance right. When should he rest? And there, a (BCCI) president can play a big role.”
The chairman has to sit with the franchisee:-
He further added, “Tomorrow if a cricketer needs to be resting for a certain number of matches in the IPL to play for India, so be it.
Where a (BCCI) president has to sit with the franchise. And explain that he is very important first for India and then for the franchise.”
On Binny becoming the BCCI President, he said, “I am happy, because he was my colleague in the World Cup. There is continuity as he was the President of Karnataka State Cricket Association. Hence, he goes on to become the President of BCCI.
