India Tour of England: KL Rahul Ruled Out Of Edgbaston Test against England

India Tour of England: Senior opener KL Rahul has been ruled out of the ‘fifth’ Test against England at Birmingham (Edgbaston Stadium) next month as his chances of recovery from a groin injury are slim.

Asked To Appear for fitness test in NCA:-

Rahul was asked to appear for the fitness test at the NCA on Saturday. But since the injury, his progress was not satisfactory.

That is why the BCCI has decided to drop him off from the tour. The Indian board will now send Rahul to Germany for treatment.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has told Cricbuzz that KL Rahul is being sent abroad for treatment.

Earlier, Rahul had a back injury:-

It is worth noting that just before the start of the India vs South Africa T20 series, Rahul suffered a back injury. The problem of back pain is constantly troubling this 30-year-old player.

“That’s right, the board is working on his fitness and he will be going to Germany soon,” BCCI secretary Jay Shah told Cricbuzz.

The report further said, Rahul is likely to visit Germany by the end of this month or early July.

Already Reached London:-

A batch of Indian players left for England from Mumbai for the 1-5 July Test at Edgbaston on Thursday morning and have already reached London.

Will a replacement be named for KL Rahul? In such a situation, it is unlikely that KL Rahul will be replaced. However, the selectors will have to announce the vice-captain for the tour.

“It is a slow process. His recovery has been slow and it is not a good sign,” a senior BCCI official had told InsideSport on Wednesday.
