Coach Rahul Dravid presented Virat Kohli with his 100th Test cap India captain Rohit Sharma learned to bat first after winning the toss against Sri Lanka in the 100th Test match played for superstar cricketer Virat Kohli on Friday.

The Punjab Cricket Association Stadium:-

The 33-year-old Kohli was greeted by officials at the start of the two-match series at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.

Coach Rahul Dravid presented a special cap to Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma, surrounded by the Indian team.

“When you started out as a kid, you wanted to play a Test for India, you are standing here to play your 100th Test,” Dravid said during the ceremony.

“It’s a testament to everything in our sport… sweat, discipline, courage, ability, determination, desire, focus, you had it all. Have a great journey. Rather, one can be very proud of the great journey that you have traveled.”

Dravid said, “Congratulations to you and your family on this wonderful achievement. It is well deserved, it is well deserved… Hopefully, it is the beginning of many big things to come, and as we say in the dressing room. Are, ‘Double it.

Virat, on his part, expressed his gratitude to all who were involved in his long journey of 100 Tests.

Kohli said, ‘This is really a special moment for me. “My wife is here. My brother is here at the stadium. All my family members… My coach since childhood. Very proud. All my teammates, thank you so much for all your support over the years.

It is truly a team game and this journey could not have been possible without all of you. BCCI also to give me an opportunity to guide the Indian cricket team in the beginning and then everything went from strength to strength.

The former India Test captain believes that playing 100 Tests in this era was a challenge.

“The only thing I would say is that in this day and age … I was able to try and play 100 Tests through the purest script of the game, which I am very proud of.”

The Getting My 100th Test Cap:-

“I couldn’t have gotten it better than one of my childhood heroes,” Kohli said. “I still have that picture in my house – back in the U-15 NCA days, where I was looking at you and taking a picture with you and today I am getting my 100th Test cap from you. So it has been an amazing journey and is progressing as expected.”
