Indian Cricket Team Overhaul: The next 24-48 hours are going to be very important for Indian cricket. Because during this time the newly formed BCCI selection committee is about to take a big decision. The first is to select the Indian team for the New Zealand series and the second is to decide on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli along with the Indian team. BCCI wants to prepare a young team keeping in view the T20 World Cup in the year 2024. Now it remains to be seen what decision the selectors will take regarding Kohli-Rohit.

We need to relocate and prepare the team for the future
A top BCCI official informed that “Unfortunately, they (Kohli-Rohit) will not be selected or considered for the New Zealand series. This is not going to take him out of the team or anything, we feel we need to move and prepare the team for the future. Ultimately, it is the selectors who will have to take a call and talk to the concerned.”
“Chetan and his team will select the team for the New Zealand series. There will not be much change in the ODI team from the Sri Lanka series. But it is up to the selectors.

Decisions will be taken regarding inclusion in the T20 team
Apart from Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, a decision will be taken to include Bhuvneshwar Kumar, R Ashwin, and Mohammed Shami in the T20 squad. Immediately after the ODI series against Sri Lanka, India will play 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches against New Zealand. While Rohit, Virat will play against New Zealand in the ODI series but will not be a part of the T20 series starting on January 27.
