Indian Team Captain Rohit Sharma Scored 47th Century Against England

IND vs ENG 3rd Test Series 2024: Indian team captain Rohit Sharma scored his 47th century against England. He scored his 47th century overall in international cricket and 11th century in Test cricket.

Rohit has completed his 47th century in the Rajkot Test against England. This century of Rohit came after the last 10 innings.

Earlier in July 2023, Rohit Sharma had scored a century against West Indies. He handled the Indian innings well and took over after the fall of three wickets for just 33 runs.

India lost three wickets in the 9th over itself but Rohit along with Ravindra Jadeja handled the innings. This is Rohit’s 9th century on Indian soil and his third against England.

Ravindra Jadeja has made three big records with this one innings of his. As soon as he scored 29 runs, he entered the special club of Sachin-Virat. He became the 9th Indian to score 2000 runs in all three formats against England.

Apart from that, he left Sourav Ganguly behind by scoring 66 runs. Now by scoring his 47th century, Rohit has left Joe Root behind and equaled AB de Villiers. If Rohit Sharma scores one more century then he can match Rahul Dravid also.

While Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli are in the first two positions with 100 centuries. Apart from this, Rohit has equaled Dimuth Karunaratne of Sri Lanka in terms of a maximum of 8 international centuries as a captain.
