Indian team’s best batsman Jemimah Rodrigues has also got a place in the Women’s T20 World Cup squad.

But the beginning of the year 2022 was not good for Jemima. Because, there was no place in the Women’s ODI World Cup team held in New Zealand.

Where the Indian team was at the fifth position in the point table. Team India failed to reach the knockout round. Despite all this, Jemima did not give up.

Rodrigues returned to the Indian team for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka in Team India. After this, she was also seen playing in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games where India won the silver medal.

Jemima opened up on a talk show:-

On Wednesday, Jemima spoke openly in a talk show with former Indian team coach WV Raman. During this, he not only answered many questions but also made many revelations remembering the days of his struggle.

Jemima also spoke about how difficult it is for a player to mentally accept being dropped from the team in early 2022.

Let me tell you, Jemima said, when I did not get a place in the team at the beginning of the year, during that time I got a lot of support from my family.

I feel I could not do anything without them. When I was not selected for the ODI World Cup team, I was going through a difficult phase at that time.

At that time I was kind of fake in front of my family, trying to laugh. I love cricket very much, it was my dream to play in the World Cup but it did not happen.

Those days I could not even sleep properly, I used to have nightmares and I used to sit up in the middle of the night.”

All Three were Trying To Please Each Other:-

Jemima further said, “I started talking to my family to get out of this bad phase. I remember that day well when I was sitting with my mom and dad and all three of us were trying to make each other happy.

I was completely broken, then I told my dad that I think I should take a break from cricket for a few days. Hearing this my dad started crying which I have seen for the first time in my life.

My mom was also completely broken. We all sat down and cried, I think that was the beginning of coming out of a bad phase. I took a break for a while and spent time with my family.”

Significantly, Jemima had performed well in the Women’s Asia Cup. She was the highest run-scorer in this tournament. He scored 217 runs in 8 matches.

Along with this, she will be seen playing in the tri-series against South Africa. Which will start from next year i.e. 19th January. After this, the Indian team will also participate in the T20 World Cup in South Africa.
