The Indian women’s team suffered a 63-run loss to hospitable New Zealand in the rain-hit fourth One Day International (ODI) match here on Tuesday.
INDW vs NZW 4th Match: Due to rain, the match started five hours late, reducing it to 20 overs.
New Zealand posted a mammoth total of 191 for five in 20 overs with the help of Amelia Kerr’s unbeaten 68 and Suzy Bates’ 41 after being called up to bat first.
The Team Got Out for 128 Runs in 17.5 Overs:-
INDW vs NZW 4th Match: The Indian team’s top order faltered in front of a big score and in the end, their entire team was bowled out for 128 runs in 17.5 overs.
Wicket-keeper batsman Richa Ghosh top-scored for India with 52 runs. New Zealand has thus taken a 4-0 lead in the five-match series. The fifth match will be played on Thursday.
Smriti Mandhana (13) did not appear in rhythm due to being in isolation for a long time, while Shafali Verma and Yastika Bhatia could not even open the account. In the fifth over, India’s score was 19 for four, which has also ensured the conclusion of the match.
Richa and skipper Mithali Raj (30 off 28 balls) put on 67 runs for the fifth wicket but that only narrowed the margin of defeat. Richa Ghosh hit four fours and as many sixes in his innings.
Amelia’s sister Jess also took two wickets, while Francis Mouque took two and Hal Jensen took three.
