INDW vs NZW World Cup 2022: Amy Sattherweight was adjudged Player of the Match, India and New Zealand team were face to face in the Women’s World Cup on Thursday. It was a battle between Mithali Raj and Sophie Devine as captain.

New Zealand won by 62 Runs:-

India lost, New Zealand won by 62 runs, Mithali Raj won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Batting first, New Zealand had set a target of 261 runs for India to win. In reply, the Indian team was all out for 198 runs.

Player of the Match – Amy Sattherwaite was adjudged Player of the Match for her superb batting of 75 runs off 84 balls.

Chasing the target of 261 runs, Team India had a bad start and Smriti Mandhana was caught out on the ball of Jess Kerr after scoring 6 runs. After this Deepti Sharma got out after scoring 5 runs.

There was a partnership of 24 runs between captain Mithali Raj and Yastika. Bhatia was dismissed after scoring 28 runs. Mithali and Harmanpreet shared an important 47-run partnership, but Mithali Raj (31) was stumped after going ahead and playing the shot.

Richa Ghosh’s wicket on the very next ball put India behind in the match. In the end, Harmanpreet Kaur played big shots. She was caught out after scoring 71 runs. India’s entire team was bundled out for 198 runs.

For New Zealand, Leya Tahuhu and Amelia Kerr took 3 wickets each, while Hayley Jensen took the last 2 wickets (Jhulan Goswami and Rajeshwari Gaikwad).

Pooja Gave the first blow to New Zealand:-

After losing the toss, opting to bat first, Pooja Vastrakar gave the first blow to New Zealand. He runs out Suzie Bates off Jhulan Goswami.

This was following by a 45-run partnership between captain Sophie Devine and Amelia Kerr. Amelia Kerr scored 50 runs. Amy Sethwaite played the highest innings of 75 runs for the team.

Katie Martin scored a crucial 41 in the last. The fielding of the Indian women’s team was poor on several occasions, and Mithali Raj, Pooja Vastrakar could not take easy catches.

The Indian cricket team Performance

This is the second match of the Indian cricket team. The team had defeated Pakistan in the first match. Apart from the failure of the top batsmen of the team, the team scored a score of 244 runs.

And then on the basis of excellent performance in bowling, Pakistan was defeating by a huge margin of 107 runs. Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana had given excellent performances.

New Zealand Cricket Team Performance

The New Zealand cricket team has played 2 matches so far. In the first, it was defeating by the West Indies and in the second, the team defeated Bangladesh by 9 wickets.

Suzy Betts and Amelia Kerr batted well in the second match. If Team India has to win over New Zealand, then its top batsmen will have to be stopping from standing.
