IPL 2022: Agarkar and Watson Set To Join Delhi Capitals As Assistant Coaches

IPL 2022: The Former India Pacer Ajit Agarkar and Australian all-rounder Shane Watson are set to join the IPL franchise Delhi Capitals as assistant coaches.

According to media reports, Agarkar and Watson will play different backgrounds while serving as deputy coach to head coach Ricky Ponting.

Agarkar and Watson will also be part of the guidance group under Ponting, captain Rishabh Pant, batting coach Pravin Amre, and bowling coach James Hopes.

Kaif and Ratra’s Contract is not Renewed:-

IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals is not renewing the contract of Mohammad Kaif and Ajay Ratra. In such a situation, Ajit Agarkar is being appointed. Both Kaif and Ratra’s tenure as Delhi’s assistant coach was till the 2021 season.

Kaif was playing the role of assistant coach of Delhi since 2019. Agarkar will join the Capitals after India’s home series against Sri Lanka.

He is part of the broadcast team of Star Sports. The Sri Lanka tour consisting of 3 T20s and 2 Tests will end on 6 March.

IPL 2022, Delhi Capitals assistant coach, Mohammad Kaif, Ajay Ratra: Ajit Agarkar’s association with Delhi Capitals will be the first assignment as a coach. Agarkar, 44, retired from cricket in 2013. Although he last played for India in 2007.

India’s expert seamer Agarkar took 288 wickets in ODIs and 58 wickets in Tests. Ajit played IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders between 2008 and 2010. He has played 62 T20 matches and has taken 47 wickets.
