IPL 2022 GC: IPL Governing Council meeting to be held on dates and schedule Today, IPL Governing Council is going to meet today to take some very important decisions for the 15th season of IPL.

The Brijesh Patel-led IPL GC will decide on the dates, schedule, and venues of the IPL as well as give the green signal for the issuance of the IPL Media Rights Tender. Which BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will attend from London.
The Agenda for IPL GC Meeting:-
- Decision on the complete schedule of IPL 2022
- IPL 2022 Venue
- Discuss possible places for the playoffs. In which Ahmedabad is the main contender.
- The final decision on the start date. March 26 is the date when IPL will start excluding any last-minute changes.
- Objective raised by IPL franchises with regard to Mumbai Indians getting a home advantage. IPL GC will discuss the matter.
IPL Media Rights Tender Released
Other operational topics around IPL 2022 are also on the agenda All the members of the IPL Governing Council including chairman Brijesh Patel will attend the meeting to be held on Thursday. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly will attend the meeting virtually from London.
IPL Dates & Schedule: InsideSport has already reported that 3 venues in Mumbai will host 55 league matches of IPL 2022 and Pune will host the remaining 15 league rivalries.
IPL 2022 will start on March 26 and the final will be held on May 29. IPL GC will officially finalize the dates, schedule, and venues of IPL 2022 today. In addition, the playoffs and final are suggested to be played in Ahmedabad.
IPL 2022 Dates: A total of 55 matches will be played at three venues in Mumbai. While Reliance Stadium was also in the offing, BCCI has locked down Wankhede Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, and CCI’s Brabourne Stadium. The MCA Stadium in Pune will host the remaining 15 group stage matches.

IPL 2022 GC: A top BCCI official told InsideSport on Monday, “The franchises have already been informed about the two cities where the IPL will be holding. And they will be making their bookings accordingly.
The league stage will be hosting by Mumbai and Pune. We have locked March 26 as the start date,”
The IPL GC will also be discussing in today’s meeting the objective, which was raising by some of the franchises against Mumbai Indians, who were enjoying unfair home advantage.
Few franchises are not ordinary with the idea of Mumbai Indians playing at the ‘home ground’ of the Wankhede Stadium. About which the IPL GC will discuss the matter informally.
IPL 2022 GC: BCCI agrees to the broadcaster’s request. It is worth noting that earlier there was a plan to start IPL 2022 from March 27.
But after the request of the official broadcaster Star Sports, BCCI has given permission to reduce the date of IPL by one day and now the 15th season of IPL will start from 26 March.
The IPL Media Rights Tender:-
The BCCI is also setting to float the much-awaiting IPL media rights tender for the 2023-27 cycle. IPL GC will be endorsing the tender document today and it will be released in the market in the next 48-72 hours.

The BCCI along with media and e-commerce giants such as Disney Star, Reliance, Amazon, and Sony is expecting to receive an amount of over Rs 40,000 crore for the media rights of 5 years.
