IPL 2022: The umpire had demanded the ball from Anrich Nortje in the middle over, banned him from bowling further, Kuldeep completed his over.

Anrich Nortje returns for the team:-

On Thursday, Delhi Capitals fast bowler Anrich Nortje made a comeback for the team, playing the first match of the season.

But his start was not good at all. Meanwhile, Norkhia, who came to bowl the 16th over, made such a mistake that the umpire snatched the ball from him, and banned him from bowling further.

Rishabh Pant had to get the remaining balls of this over from Kuldeep Yadav. In the competition, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Delhi by 6 wickets.

Nortje’s Mistake:-

Enrique Nortje came out yesterday to play the first match of the season. With Delhi Capitals defending the target of 149 runs, their lead pacer Norkhia’s walk was imperative.

Captain Rishabh Pant had saved him over, but Nortje, who came to bowl the 16th over, made such a mistake that the umpire asked him for the ball, and then he was not allowed to bowl back.

Actually, Deepak Hooda played a shot on the fourth ball of this over, which was easily caught by Sarfaraz Khan standing on point. But along with catching the catch, Sarfaraz also came to know that it would not be out.

Actually, this ball of Norkhia was above the waist. On seeing this ball, the umpire immediately asked for the ball from Nortje and got it checked by the third umpire, then it was clearly known that this ball is a no-ball.

A Banned From Bowling:-

Then after this Nortje was not allowed to bowl back, the umpire banned him from bowling anymore in this match. The remaining ball of this over was bowled by Kuldeep Yadav.

In fact, even before this, Anrich had bowled a no-ball in front of Quinton de Kock in this match too. That ball was also fulling toss and well above the waist.

According to the rules, when a bowler bowls such a no-ball twice, he is banning from bowling anymore in the match.

A full toss ball above the waist is considering dangerous. So such a step is taking as per the rules.

Delhi Got Defeated by Lucknow:-

Lucknow Super Giants won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first Delhi Capitals scored 149 runs, in reply Lucknow chased down the target with 2 balls to spare and won by 6 wickets.

Quinton de Kock was adjudging the player of the match, who scored 80 runs in 52 balls while chasing the target. De Kock’s half-century has come in the second consecutive innings.
