IPL 2022: Virat Kohli Remembers AB de Villiers in RCB Camp

IPL 2022: Former RCB captain Virat Kohli misses his best friend and brother AB de Villiers in the RCB camp. And said- ‘If we win the title, I will be very emotional for de Villiers’.

The Role of Mentor of RCB:-

AB de Villiers had announced his role as RCB’s mentor ahead of the season.

Virat Kohli said during the camp that if RCB wins the title this season or next season, he will get very emotional for de Villiers.

IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore has shared a video of a conversation with Virat Kohli on his Twitter handle. In the video, Virat Kohli was asked a question about the retirement of AB de Villiers.

Virat Kohli said, ‘It was very surprising. Me and Anushka could not believe it. I remember well.

A Returning After Playing T20 World Cup:-

Then we were returning after playing the T20 World Cup. I was driving when AB (de Villiers) sent me a voice note (verbal message) on the phone.

IPL 2022: Kohli said, ‘I opened that vice note. After this Anushka and I started listening to his message.

As soon as we both heard what was said in the vice note, Anushka and I started staring at each other’s faces. In the vice note, he had spoken of his retirement. Anushka was also surprised.

IPL 2022: Kohli said, ‘He was an important player for our team in IPL. I had such doubts only last season. Actually, our rooms in the hotel were next to each other.

Whenever I used to meet him, he used to say I want to sit over coffee with you. I always used to say nervously that no, you are going to narrate something like this (sannyasa), but he used to say no-no, there is nothing like this now.

Virat said something is going on in his mind:-

Kohli said, ‘However, I used to think that something like this was cooking in his mind somewhere.

When I finally saw his voice message, it was a very emotional moment for me. In the message, he had said that I don’t think I have cricket left in me now.

IPL 2022: Virat Kohli further said, ‘AB de Villiers is an amazing player. He has worked hard for this team. Now if whenever we win the title.
