IPL 2023: The Sri Lankan players who do not play in IPL 2023 will not be banned. Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, led by MS Dhoni, have got a big relief before the 16th season of IPL.
Sri Lanka Cricket has denied media reports that Sri Lankan players will be banned for the IPL auction 2024 for missing the first few matches of the upcoming IPL season.

Wanindu Hasaranga (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Mahith Thikshana and Mathisha Pathirana (both Chennai Super Kings) are three Sri Lankan cricketers.
Those who will not participate in the first matches of their respective IPL franchises of IPL 2023 due to national commitments.
Currently, T20 series is being played between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Which will end by 8th April. According to Sri Lankan media sources, the BCCI is reportedly unhappy with the situation.
Four Sri Lankan players in this list will not be present for the opening matches of IPL while only Punjab Kings Bhanuka Rajapaksa will be present for the entire season.
According to Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror report, the Sri Lanka Cricket Board does not want to displease the BCCI, due to which the Sri Lankan Board has handed over NOCs to the players playing in the IPL.
The Sri Lankan board said on the matter, “We have issued NOC to players to go to IPL after New Zealand tour and BCCI has accepted it.
He has not expressed any displeasure over the players being unavailable for the first few matches.
Apart from this, some South African players like David Miller, and Kagiso Rabada. Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi will miss the first five matches of IPL 2023.
On 31 March and 2 April, South Africa will host the Netherlands for two One Day Internationals.
