Jason Roy Reacts To Reports Of Giving Up Central Contract For League Cricket. England’s best opener Roy has become a topic of discussion these days.
Reports claim that he has decided to opt out of his country’s central contract to play with the Los Angeles Knight Riders in the Major Premier League.
While issuing a statement to these reports, Jason Roy has called England his first priority.

Jason Roy will continue to play cricket for England for a long time:-
Reacting to the news of his retirement from the England team for league cricket, Jason Roy has posted a long post on social media.
In this, he has told that he will give priority to England only and he wants to play for his country for a long time.
He wrote in the beginning of his post that ‘After some speculation going on for the last 24 hours, I want to make it clear that I am not going anywhere from England and will never go’.
There was a clear conversation with the England Cricket Board
Jason Roy further said in his post, “As a professional cricketer, I take pride in representing my country and will continue to do so.
I hope to play cricket for England for a few more years and that is my priority. I have had clear talks with the ECB about participating in Major League Cricket.
The ECB was happy with me playing in this tournament, as long as they didn’t have to pay me for the remaining year of the contract.

Jason Roy clarified his point further and also said that ‘I wanted to be a part of this league to be held in America without any central contract, because there was no schedule conflict with England at that time.
Obviously my priority is England cricket. Especially the closer we are to the World Cup. It is a big honor not only for me but for any player.

Excellent performance for KKR
England opener Jason Roy was not bought in the IPL auction. But later KKR included him in the team as a replacement.
After which Roy played many important innings for the team. He scored 285 runs in 8 matches in IPL 2023 at a strike rate of 150.
