Shah’s Big Moves

Shah also dished on what he’s been up to as BCCI honcho. Guess what his top priority was? Revamping the National Cricket Academy! He pumped over 250 crore rupees into it, and expects the brand new, world-class facilities to be ready by July or August. Shah also considers pulling off the IPL in the UAE during the pandemic in 2020 a major win.

The “Impact Player” Rule: A Work in Progress?

The controversial “Impact Player” rule introduced in this year’s IPL got a shoutout too. Shah says it’s a trial run, and they’re gathering feedback from players, franchises, and everyone involved.

“It seems to be making matches more exciting and giving more Indian players a shot,” he says. But Shah’s open to tweaking the rule if the feedback isn’t positive.
