England Fast bowler Jofra Archer under doubt for the England tour of India T20I series

Archer is still struggling for his elbow injury in his right arm and is under suspicion for the upcoming T20I matches, which will play from March 12 to 20 March against India.

Jofra Archer missed the fourth and final Test in Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad due to his elbow injury problem which first became apparent ahead of the Cape Town Test at the start of 2020.

The injury was later identified as a stress fracture and Archer was originally ruled out of the scheduled tour of Sri Lanka and the Indian Premier League 2020

However, both events were rescheduled due to COVID-19, and Jofra Archer competed in the Indian Premier League 2020, which was played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

“Jofra’s elbow was slightly flared and the medical staff was managing at the time,” said Silverwood. “Obviously we will monitor his progress. The medical staff is talking about how we deal with this injury long-term.

“We’ll see where we end up with him. I want Jofra to be fit for all formats of cricket. I want him to have a long, successful Test career.

Chris Silverwood confirmed that England players involved in the IPL knock-stage would not be required to return before the end of the tournament.

The final of the IPL 2021 will begin on 30 May and the first Test against New Zealand from 2 June, which may include many of England’s first Test players such as Butters, B Stokes, and Archer.
