Keshav Maharaj passes Paul Adams as Proteas’ top spinner, Maharaj has made his way into the record books after passing Paul Adams in the Proteas Test wicket-takers list after isolation.

Entering the fifth and final day of the ongoing Test against Bangladesh at Kingsmead in Durban, Maharaj has now secured 136 Test scalps.

Joe is two more than Adams, who took 134 wickets in his 45 Test matches between 1995 and 2004.

However, it must be remembered that the all-time guide for South Africa is on the list of Test wicket-takers.
Hugh Teefield continues to be the most successful spinner in the country with 170 wickets at an impressive average of 25.91.

Keshav Maharaj and Kagiso Rabada are the only South African players currently active in the ‘100 Test Wickets’ club.
