Nitish Rana has been associated with KKR since 2018. However, earlier the names of Shardul Thakur, Narine and Russell were surfacing as captains.

But the franchise has entrusted him with the responsibility of captaincy, expressing confidence in the Indian batsman. This is the first time that Nitish will be seen leading a team in the IPL for the first time.
