Handed over the reins of captaincy:-

Rahul was handed the captaincy reins for the T20I series but got injured a day before the series began.

KL Rahul is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the NCA and it is not yet clear when he will be fit to take the field.

According to the report of Cricbuzz, “Rahul’s injury is not fully recovered yet. Sources have indicated that his participation in the England series is doubtful, but it is not clear whether he will be fit for the ODI series.

The first batch will leave for England on Friday (June 16)

Meanwhile, it has also been learned that the Indian team will leave for England in two groups. The report further said, “The first batch of the Indian team will leave for England on Friday (June 16).

After this, the second batch including coaches Rahul Dravid, Rishabh Pant, and Shreyas Iyer will take off on June 20.

The only Test match on the England tour will be playing from July 1 to July 5. This is the rescheduling fifth and final Test match that was postponing due to COVID-19 in the Indian camp last year. The match was earlier scheduled to be playing in Manchester in September last year. India is ahead 2-1 in this series.

The selection committee is yet to announce the name of any player as KL Rahul’s replacement as three openers are including in the already announced 17-man squad. Apart from Rahul, captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill are the other openers.
