Manoj Tiwari said: Winning Ranji Trophy is still my biggest dream, West Bengal Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Manoj Tiwari has visited his constituency in Shibpur near Howrah four days a week for the past year.

West Bengal has made it to the knockouts for the second consecutive season. In March 2020, he came to win the Ranji title for the first time since the 1989-90 season.

Winning Ranji Trophy for the first time by defeating Delhi:-

32 years ago, Bengal won the Ranji Trophy for the first time by defeating the star-studded Delhi. That season of 1990 is remembered for Sourav Ganguly’s grand entry into the final.

I had dreamed that while leading the Bengal team, I would make the team win Ranji, however, that was not possible.

After that, I just wanted to be a part of the Ranji Trophy-winning team. In 2020, we were very close to winning the trophy. However, even there the work remained unfinished.
