IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Series 2023: Mark Waugh Calls Suryakumar a player who can become a good ODI player. ‘You don’t lose talent overnight’. Suryakumar, who is ranked number one among ICC T20 batsmen, has not been able to make an impact in ODIs so far.

He is Good Enough To Be a 50-over Player:-

Former Australian batsman Mark Waugh praised Suryakumar Yadav and said that he is good enough to become a 50-over player.

Suryakumar, who is ranked number one among ICC T20 batsmen, has not been able to make an impact in ODIs so far.

But he scored a brilliant half-century against Australia (IND vs AUS) in the first ODI to justify his place in the ODI World Cup squad. Whereas Surya has scored 587 runs in 28 ODI matches at an average of 25.52.

Mark Waugh told Jio Cinema:-

“It’s not about those ducks. All those things that people are talking about, ‘Is he just a T20 player?’ Is he good enough to be a 50-over player?’

They are sure that you do not lose your talent overnight. The basics of T20 cricket and 50-over cricket are the same. Shoot the ball, run hard, take away the bad ball, he can do all those things really well.”

He added, “It’s just a matter of him being free and not worrying about getting out. The only thing that always holds batsmen back is the thought of getting out.

If you can’t think about him, your natural instincts will take over and he’ll be fine.”
