Then he faced a personal tragedy. His pub, The Tap, and Run caught fire and was completely demolished a few hours before the game.

The board later tweeted about the incident saying, “I can’t believe this morning’s news. Can’t believe I still can, our wonderful pub @tapandruncw caught fire early in the morning.

Thankfully no one was hurt, Nottinghamshire Fire Service was incredible in their efforts and thank the villagers for the wonderful support and support, and are sorry for the disruption. ,

“Thinking of our awesome staff today, every single person out there who has created a special pub for the community. It hurts right now but we will come out on the other side,” the 35-year-old continued.

Notably, Broad co-owns the pub with another former English pacer, Harry Gurney, whom Indian fans will recognize from his stint with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League.

Eight firefighters were deployed:-

Emergency services reached the spot at around 3:20 pm and as per reports, eight firefighters were pressed into service to douse the fire.

The pub is located on the border of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire. Despite the damage to the building, no one was injured in the fire.

Meanwhile, the veteran pacer picked up 2 for 107 in the first innings of the ongoing Test against New Zealand. He took the wickets of Kyle Jamieson and Tim Southee.
