Meg Lanning: Australia’s captain took an indefinite break from cricket

Meg Lanning, the woman captain who played the most international matches for Australia, has decided to take an indefinite break from cricket. Lanning has taken this big decision due to personal reasons. Under Lanning’s captaincy, the Australian women’s cricket team recently won the gold medal in the women’s cricket event at the Commonwealth Games. Australia defeated India in the gold medal match.

Lanning wrote in a statement regarding this break

‘After a very busy last few years, I have decided to take this break so that I can focus on myself. I am thankful for the support of CA and fellow players

Under Lanning’s captaincy, the Australian team has won the T20 World Cup, the ODI World Cup, and the Ashes series. However, 30-year-old Lanning has not yet told when she will return to the cricket field. Cricket Australia informed about this decision of Lanning and also said that CA fully supports him.

However, no information has been given from her side about when she will play cricket again.

He has got a lot of support from the Australia Cricket Board in this decision. CA of the Australia Women’s Performance Cricket Board said: “We are proud of Mag for admitting that she needs a break and will continue to support her during this time.”
