Melbourne Renegades Captain Nic Maddinson Ruled Out Of The Remaining Match Due To An Injury

Melbourne Renegades captain Nic Maddinson has been ruled out of the rest of the match due to injury. Maddison will miss the remainder of the KFC BBL|12 as scans confirmed a torn ACL.

Left knee injury while fielding:-

Melbourne Renegades captain Nic Maddinson will be sent for scans tomorrow to determine the severity of a left knee injury sustained while fielding during their five-wicket loss to Perth Scorchers.

The 31-year-old went down clutching his left knee while fielding a ball on the outfield of the Marvel Stadium during the second over of the Scorchers chase and appeared to be in serious trouble as he was carried off on a stretcher.

The 31-year-old was injured while fielding against the Perth Scorchers at the Marvel Stadium. A scan on Monday confirmed the injury as an ACL tear.

Maddison’s rehabilitation plan is to be confirmed:-

Maddinson’s rehabilitation plan will be confirmed in the coming days following consultation with Melbourne Renegades and Cricket Victoria’s medical staff.

Melbourne Renegades general manager James Rosengarten said, “Our thoughts are with Nick and we will continue to support him as he works towards his recovery.”

“Nick has been a fantastic leader for our team since taking over as captain last season and he will continue to play a huge role in helping this team grow.”

“I’m feeling really good at No.4, it’s been a good challenge after opening the batting for the last 15 years… It feels like a completely different game to open the batting.”

The Key to Breaking the Necklace of the Renegades:-

Finch said the key to breaking the losing streak for the Renegades – starting with the Melbourne derby against the Stars at the MCG on Tuesday – was to be more aggressive with the bat.

“I think we lacked a little bit of intent; we tried to have a little more intent today,” he said.

“It is one thing if you are losing wickets despite being aggressive and still scoring but we are stuck in the middle, we are losing wickets even while standing.
