MI vs GT: All-rounder Hardik Pandya will take the field on Friday against his former franchise Mumbai Indians (MI vs GT) and he is fully prepared for this.

The star-all-rounder revealed that he had spoken to Kieron Pollard a few days back and wished him well.

However, on Friday, Hardik will play against Mumbai for the first time. While one team is at the top of the points table, the other team is at the bottom.

Gujarat is one victory away from potentially cementing its seat in the IPL 2022 playoffs.

Talking ahead of the big match, Hardik recalled some of his fondest memories with Mumbai Indians.

He said that he gained popularity and fame in the Mumbai Indians jersey from the first match against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk in 2015.

The Gujarat Titans captain said that he jokingly told Pollard that he might play for his franchise next year.

Hardik said in a video shared by Gujarat Titans, “I have always seen myself in blue and gold jersey but I am also in blue and gold jersey with my home state, which is even more special.

I had my first glimpse of success in that game (against CSK) where I scored 3 runs. There are so many memories, all my memories are made with that team.”

Hardik said, “I wish Polly (Pollard) had the best day for him but I hope we win.

I messaged Polly (Pollard) a few days ago and said ‘hope you’re fine, hope you’re enjoying it. And I said we remember him here.

I Joked you don’t know, you can come to us next year. It’s my wish but I know it’s never going to happen.”

Pollard was retained by Mumbai Indians before the mega auction, but so far his performance has not been great.

The big-hitting star, who retired from international cricket last month, has scored just 125 runs for the five-time champions in nine matches so far this season at a modest average of less than 20.
