McDonald told ‘Cricinfo’ on Sunday:-

IND vs AUS 2nd Test: Macdonald said ‘Cricinfo’ on Sunday, “He (Kuhneman) has a good chance to play in the next Test.”

He said, “If we play with three spinners, then we obviously want to have a ‘back-up’ available in the team so that we can do that if we want to.”

Kuhnemann has no international experience, having taken just 35 wickets in 13 first-class matches, and was taken by surprise at the news of his inclusion.

Kuhnman said after Queensland’s Sheffield Shield match against Victoria, “The call came yesterday morning when I was going for warm-up. I was very surprised.

He said, “I was lucky that my passport was in my bag. I watched the first Test, it feels so good to watch this series.

Macdonald defended the team management’s decision to replace Travis Head with Matt Renshaw, saying that Renshaw had failed to live up to expectations.
