Batsman’s left middle finger was injured for six weeks:-

The left-handed batsman’s left middle finger was sore for six weeks after being injured in a freak fielding accident during the Boxing Day Test.

There is still a lot of scar tissue and swelling in the finger that is important to release the ball.

Starc had to let the ball slip away from his ring and index finger while training during his layoff before resuming his more normal bowling action in recent weeks.

“It’s a Test match, it’s pretty good,” Starc told reporters at the colorful Holkar Stadium in Indore on Monday, two days ahead of the third Test.
