“With the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 starting soon and most of the preparations already done, the challenge will be to ensure that the players are mentally prepared,” Raj said.

He said, ‘You have to work hard mentally for such an event. Being in a very good mental state is very important.

The more clear and calm you are, the more natural your performance will be and your cricket will start to flow.”

“India’s chances will largely depend on the top order. Smriti Mandhana is playing well and is a match-winner. Harmanpreet Kaur is also seen in good form.

But we have to beat Australia and England, and you need other batsmen to come to the party.

Gained so much experience of conditions in South Africa:-

“I am hopeful that Shafali Verma and Richa Ghosh will also do well in the World Cup as they have gained so much experience of the conditions in South Africa. The bowling will be tested and that is where we need to see improvement.

“I am really hoping that the WPL will help with player development as well. We have seen in the Under-19 World Cup how much young talent there is around the world.

Players are already enjoying the number of televised matches and the chance to play alongside big names in domestic cricket.
