MLC 2023: Steve Smith can play for this team in MLC. Smith can play Major League Cricket (MLC) for Washington Freedom after the 2024 T20 World Cup.

He has agreed to a deal to become the brand ambassador for the franchise. In Australia, Smith’s state team New South Wales (NSW) is partnered with the Washington Freedom in the MLC.

Smith has expressed the possibility of playing in MLC:-

It stars Michael Klinger as Head of Cricket and Greg Shippard as head coach. Smith turned 34 last month. He spends most of the time in New York City. He proposed to his wife Dani there in 2017.

Earlier told the Sydney Morning Herald that he had expressed the possibility of playing in the MLC about ending his career in the USA.

Australia do not have any fixtures during the July window of the MLC next year.

The Caribbean with a T20I series against Afghanistan in late August and their first scheduled tour after the T20 World Cup in the United States in June.

Klinger told ESPNcricinfo – Steve has a close relationship with New South Wales and Sydney Sixers.

He obviously had five great games in the last BBL and it is great to have him on board as an ambassador to promote the team.

Henriques, Ben Dwarshuis, Josh Philippe, and Tanveer Sangha are the NSW players who will play for the Freedom in the inaugural season of the MLC, which runs from July 13 to 30. The Freedom will play their first MLC game on Friday night in Dallas against the Seattle Orcas.
