Ali has made up his mind to retire from the ODI format in view of his growing age.
However, before that he wants to see England win the World Cup in 2023. He wishes that he gets a chance to play in the World Cup 2023, after which he will take a decision considering his fitness.
Ali said during a conversation with TalkSport2:-
The 35-year-old Moeen Ali said during a conversation with TalkSport2, “I don’t set too many goals for myself.
But I want to play in the World Cup 2023 and also want to see my team win. After that I will think what to do.
In this interview, Ali further said, I am not saying that I will retire. But he is also not saying that he will not take retirement.
It becomes difficult to play 50 overs cricket:-
Playing for seven to eight months at the age of 35 hurts a lot. I haven’t decided yet. But I have a rough idea of what I’m trying to do. With age it becomes difficult to play 50 overs cricket.
Talking about Moin Ali’s cricket career so far, it has been excellent. He has played 129 ODIs for England in which he has scored 2212 runs in 103 innings.
Also in Tests, he has scored 2914 runs in 111 innings in 64 matches. In T20, Moeen Ali has scored 1067 runs in 73 matches.

Also, Moin Ali plays for Chennai Super Kings in IPL. He was retained by CSK in the 2023 auction.
