Former India captain and Chennai Super Kings skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesday, June 2 said that cricketers should feel proud to represent their district as it is the first step to reaching the top level.

“This is the first time that I am being a part of the celebrations organized to mark the success of the district association,” Dhoni said at an event organized on the silver jubilee of Tiruvallur District Cricket Association (TDCA) here.

India Cements whole-time director Roopa Gurunath, CSK CEO KS Viswanathan, and office-bearers of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association also attended the ceremony.

He was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by former ICC President and former BCCI President N Srinivasan.
