The controversy came to light on the third day of the match when Phillips used saliva on the ball while bowling. If we talk about the rules, ICC has completely banned it and it came into effect from 1 October 2022.
What Are The Complete Rules Of ICC?
If we talk about ICC rules, then if any player of any team uses saliva on the ball, then he will be found guilty of violation of Law 41.3 of the ICC Constitution.
In this situation, a penalty of five runs will be imposed on that player’s team. Some people might be wondering whether there will be a ban for this, no, till now no rule has been brought by ICC to ban it.
Nepal Player Alishan Sharafu Had Used Saliva On The Ball:-
A similar case had come up before this also. This happened in November 2022 when an ODI match was being played between Nepal and UAE. In that match, Nepal player Alishan Sharafu used saliva on the ball.
