NZ has Confirmed Daryl Mitchell will Travel To Australia With T20 WC Teammates

NZ has confirmed that batsman Daryl Mitchell will travel to Australia with the rest of his teammates ahead of the start of the ICC Men’s T20 WC this week.

Head coach Gary Stead admitted that New Zealand’s opening match in the T20 World Cup against Australia in Sydney on October 22 could come too soon for Mitchell, but he expects the 31-year-old to be back for the later part of the tournament.

“The good news is that we have decided on Daryl Mitchell and he will tour the World Cup with us,” Stead said on Monday.

Mitchell’s form with the bat was a major reason New Zealand made it. It to the final of the T20 World Cup in Dubai last year.
