PAK T20 WC 2022: Shoaib Malik breaks his silence on being dropped from the World Cup squad, amid talks over trouble in Pakistan’s middle order after their campaign for the 2022 Asia Cup in UAE.

Shoaib Malik back on the team:-

A group of experienced cricketers has been insisting that the management should bring Shoaib Malik back in the team. Malik played some good knocks in the domestic tournament in September.

But despite this the veteran batsman did not find a place in Pakistan’s team for the T20 World, which was criticized by many.

Malik on Thursday spoke openly about his exclusion from the T20 World Cup squad and his relationship with current Pakistan captain Babar Azam.

During Pakistan’s Asia Cup campaign, Malik was a part of the ongoing 2022 National T20 Cup in the country, where he scored a total of 204 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 140.68 with two fifties.

The Competition Against Bangladesh in November:-

The veteran batsman, who has not been picked in any international T20 series since the T20 World Cup competition against Bangladesh last November,

In the 2022 Pakistan Super League as well, he scored 401 runs with three fifties in 11 innings at a strike rate of 137.32.

Still, Malik failed to make a comeback in the Pakistan team for the World Cup, but he has no regrets.

Talking to Sama TV about not being in the World Cup squad, Malik said that his selection was entirely on the selection committee and the team management and he does not want to blame anyone for not being picked in the team.

The Job of the selection committee or PCB:-

He said, ‘Look, my job is to play cricket wherever I get a chance. To choose or not to do is the job of the team management, selection committee, or PCB.

My job is to take advantage of the opportunity and try to perform well. I have no problem with anyone.

I am not against anybody. Because the biggest reason for the success of my career is to stay positive.

Malik also talked about his relationship with Babar. He revealed that when he was in constant touch with Babur.

So he gave him the responsibility of his captaincy and said. That he never pressurized the captain for his selection nor tried to persuade him.
