IPL 2022: Mumbai Indians Coach Mahela Jayawardene in Trouble
IPL 2022: In troubled Mumbai Indians coach Mahela Jayawardene, the nation vs IPL debate is no longer limited to players only.
Coach Mahela Jayawardene:-
Former Sri Lankan great player (Former Cricketer Mahela Jayawardene) and Mumbai Indians (MI) coach Mahela Jayawardene (MI Coach Mahela Jayawardene) have also been caught in the same debate.

Jayawardene, who is also Sri Lanka’s ‘consult coach’, is being questioning. About his commitment to the national team compared to Mumbai Indians.
The Sri Lankan media and fans have questioned Mahela’s performance and asked for clarification as to whether he was devoting less to his national team and more to the IPL.
A Questions are being raising on Jayawardene’s role:-
Mahela Jayawardene (Former Cricketer Mahela Jayawardene) will be appointing as the Consultant Coach of Sri Lanka with effect from 1 January 2022.
According to SLC, as part of his new assignment, Jayawardene is expecting to provide invaluable strategic approval for players and management teams.
But during his tenure, India defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in the T20I series that ended on Sunday.
Earlier, Sri Lanka had lost 1-4 to Australia in the T20 series. In none of these series, Jayawardene was present with the team to give his opinion.
An editorial note by well-known Sri Lankan cricket writer Rex Clementine of Sunday Island had questioned Jayawardene’s commitment to the national team.
He wrote, “The tours to India and Australia were the toughest. But he is not in the dressing room when the players expect him the most. Surely, Ambani is not going to allow him (MI coach Mahela Jayawardene) to take a break in the middle of the IPL.
The Former Sri Lankan Test Cricketer:-
InsideSport reached out to some former Sri Lankan cricketers who weren’t too happy with Jayawardene’s performance.
One of the former Sri Lankan Test cricketers said, “He is very erratic, MJ has a lot to do.
With the national team, you expected a complete and undivided commitment and with that, he was missing. Even the appointment of the national coach is pending.”

Cricket experts, writers, and fans are also concerned that one person may not have a lot of power.
According to some, Jayawardene (Mumbai Indians) and Kumar Sangakkara (RR) will soon join their IPL franchises for IPL 2022. And that is why he will not be received for his performance with Sri Lanka Cricket.
