Pakistan Cricket: The 2 Giants Axed After Poor Performance in WC, More Big Changes Expected! Pakistan’s cricket team totally choked at the T20 World Cup 2024.

Babar Azam’s team couldn’t even reach the Super 8 stage, and to make things worse, they lost to a weak team like the USA. This embarrassing performance has sent shockwaves through the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Big Names Get the Axe!

Blaming them for the team’s struggles, the PCB has shown the door to two big names in the selection committee – Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq. Razzaq, who was a selector for both the men’s and women’s teams, has been dropped from both positions.

Wahab Was on Thin Ice Already!

Apparently, the writing was on the wall for Wahab Riaz ever since Pakistan’s early exit from the T20 World Cup. He only got the job in 2024, but it seems they’ve already lost faith in him. The 7-member selection committee is expected to see more changes soon.

Turbulent Times for Pakistan Cricket

Things haven’t been smooth sailing for Pakistan cricket since the 2023 World Cup disaster. Back then, the coach, captain, and selectors were all chopped and changed. In fact, 6 selectors have been replaced in the last 4 years!
