Pakistan Cricketer 18-Year-Old Ayesha Naseem Retires From International Cricket. According to a report in Cricbuzz, the cricketer has given this information to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Pakistan cricketer Ayesha Naseem has decided to retire from international cricket citing religious reasons.

As per reports, the 18-year-old apprised the governing body of the decision after the T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa, where Pakistan was ousted in the first round.

The PCB contacted the player and made several attempts to get the young batsman to reconsider his decision but to no avail.

Ayesha hails from Abbottabad, Pakistan, and has represented the team in 34 international matches despite numerous injuries and bruises.

He scored 402 runs in international cricket:-

After making his debut against Thailand during the T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020, he scored 402 runs in international cricket.

But it is his big-hitting prowess that made the world take note of him and his batting strike rate of 128.12 in T20Is is proof of that.

After impressing everyone by scoring some 30 against the hosts during the tour of South Africa in 2021, Ayesha scored an unbeaten 45 off 33 balls against the West Indies in North Sound.

Although he played a few cameos in the lower order for Pakistan after that, his most famous innings came against neighboring India during a high-octane clash in the T20 World Cup 2023.

Ayesha helped two fours and two sixes in 25 balls:-

Playing at 68 for 4, Ayesha played a stormy inning of 43 runs in 25 balls. With the help of two fours and two sixes.

Even though India won the game thanks to heroics from Jemimah Rodrigues and Richa Ghosh. The big-hitting batsman received praise from his skipper Bismah Maroof as well as from the cricket community.

Abbottabad is a traditionally conservative city and Ayesha is the only other player from the region after Kanita Jalil.

The batsman’s retirement would be a great loss for Pakistan as power-hitting is still a rarity in Pakistan cricket.
