ODI World Cup 2023: Pakistan security team to visit India to assess 2023 WC venues. The Pakistan Cricket Board has shared its official stand on the ODI World Cup 2023 schedule released by the ICC.

Team participation in tournaments subject to government approval:-

The PCB spokesperson once again emphasized that the team’s participation in the tournament is subject to government approval.

However, a report has claimed that the PCB is preparing to send a security team to the venues where Pakistan is to play matches.

A PCB spokesperson said, “The board requires the approval of the Government of Pakistan. For any tour of India, including match venues.

Liaising with your government for guidance:-

We are liaising with our government for guidance and will update the Event Authority [ICC] as soon as we hear from them.

This position is in line with what we conveyed to the ICC a few weeks ago. When they shared the draft schedule with us and sought our feedback.”

The PCB has started the process of involving the government to obtain permission for its participation in the tournament.

They may also engage with the ICC regarding venues. Which are not limited to matches against hosts India, as reported by The Indian Express.

Apart from this, PCB will send its security team to check the security arrangements at the venues. Where matches of Pakistan cricket team will be holding.

No timeline has been fixed for this process. It will be depending on the response of the government. It is a practice for some teams to conduct such security assessments before major events.
