PCB’s Ramiz Raja: Lahore And Karachi are Likely To Host Seven T20Is Between PAK vs ENG

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Ramiz Raja has confirmed that Lahore and Karachi are likely to host Seven T20Is matches between PAK vs ENG from September 15 to October 2.

The Expected to reach Pakistan to assess:-

A three-member security team of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is expected to reach Pakistan later this month to assess the arrangements.

Although there are other places to consider in Pakistan, Multan, and Rawalpindi, Ramiz said the schedule is “very tight and we can’t go anywhere else”.

The Fixtures for the series have not been announced:-

The PCB is yet to announce fixtures for the series, which will mark the first instance of England’s tour of Pakistan in 16 years.

Following this series, Pakistan will depart for New Zealand on 4 October to participate in a T20I tri-series (including Bangladesh) in Christchurch from 7 to 14 October.

Meanwhile, England will return to Pakistan for one after the 2022 T20 World Cup. A three-Test series in November as a part of the World Test Championship.

The Expected to be ready before the series:-

Pitches in Karachi and Lahore have been reopened and are expected to be ready ahead of the series.

The tour was originally scheduled to be played in Rawalpindi last October, but England canceled their tour after New Zealand did so at the last minute over security issues.

England’s new white-ball captain Jos Buttler said last week. That he did not expect his best team to be available for the series due to the fixture crowds.

England’s red-ball players are unlikely to be available at the start of the limited-overs series in Pakistan. With England’s third Test against South Africa due to conclude on September 12.

The Forced to Play in UAE:-

The upcoming series is significant as England has not toured Pakistan since 2005. And was forced to play Pakistan’s two home series in the United Arab Emirates in 2012 and 2016.

When England decided to call back their men’s and women’s teams’ tour of Pakistan last year. Ramiz hit out at cricket’s “western bloc”.

The ECB cited bubble fatigue and “growing concerns about field trips” to pull out of the series.
