During the second day of the first Test of ongoing India’s tour of Australia in Adelaide, India opening batsman Prithvi Shaw once again became the victim of an incoming delivery which led to his dismissal.

It all happened on the first delivery of the fourth over when Shaw had no answer whatsoever against Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins’ brilliant delivery.

Cummins brought the ball into Shaw who once again left a substantial gap between the bat. The pad only to let the ball pass through it and hit the stumps.

Opening the batting with Mayank Agarwal (5*) in a scenario where India needed their openers to bat for 5-6 overs. Shaw couldn’t fulfil the ask as he departed after scoring 4 (4).

Although against left-arm Mitchell Starc, Shaw had got out in the first innings in a similar manner. It will now further raise questions not only over a clear weakness but on his position in the XI as well.

With India finishing Day 2 on 9-1 in six overs, they now lead by 62 runs with a fascinating day of Test cricket coming up tomorrow.

After bundling out India for 244 in 93.1 overs in the morning. The hosts themselves got dismissed on 191 in 72.1 overs.

Had it not been a laudable eighth half-century from captain Tim Paine (73*), Australia might have found themselves in deeper trouble today.
