This is now the highest margin of victory (in a number of runs) in first-class history. Mumbai broke New South Wales’ record for the feat, which dates back to 1929/30 when they beat Queensland by 685 runs.

Set a target of 795 runs for Uttarakhand:-

Mumbai set a target of 795 runs for Uttarakhand after skipper Prithvi Shaw (72) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (103) put up another stellar performance with the bat. He declared the innings at 261/3, and Uttrakhand could run across the board when Kamal Singh was dismissed for a duck.

Uttarakhand lost both their openers in the first three overs and only Kunal Chandela (21) could break the double digits in their top-6.

Dhawal Kulkarni, Shams Mulani, and Tanush Kotian took three wickets each for Mumbai, while Mohit Awasthi registered figures of 1/5 in four overs.

  • Earlier, Mumbai scored 647/8 in the first round thanks to Suved Parkar‘s impressive 252 and Sarfaraz Khan’s 153. Later, the team bowled out Uttarakhand for just 114, where Mulani took five wickets (5/39).

Incidentally, on Wednesday, Bengal also set a world record in first-class cricket when nine of its batsmen scored more than fifty points in a single innings during the quarter-final match against Jharkhand.
